I couldn't decided whether to get my godson a toy or a pet...

...so i compromised and got him a rattlesnake.

As it is christmas and text inboxes are filled with joyful poems summing up this time of year. I thought I'd give it a try and be able to give an original reply rather than "cool". Here it is. It's surprisingly upbeat for me.

So this is it
December twenty-fifth.
A time for happiness
where spirits should lift.
But let us not forget those who've wronged
Kanye's complaints over Taylor Swift's song.
Michael Jackson's death
the O2 wasn't rocking.
Henry's handball
the lump of coal in Irish stocking.
But yes it is christmas and no one should forget
family and togetherness is something you won't regret.

There's no apathy in this country - not when there's a nob in a box

Well I'm here for another week then I'm back home til the new year starts. Freshers week can take a back seat this year, home is where I'll be. Unless of course I manage to land a job by then. So yea, acquiring a job seems to quite promising with practically every shop, restaurant, bar, café preparing to bring in a wave of new staff as Canterbury's population is set to rise greatly when all the students arrive/return. I haven't really got much more to blog about really. Not much is happening Rhian's Swindon peeps have gone and they were all cool, Mike and Dave should be coming back down for a few days, Sam is still here and Andy's moving in over the weekend so things should be picking up again. Manchester United v Arsenal tomorrow the beginning of Arsenal's mini rape tour of Manchester which sees them take on Manchester City a week later. Bring it on.

Song of the week.

the beauty of uncertainty

Another day in canter-wonder-world-land has passed and another twenty-four hours of niceness goes into the "pros of just staying in Canterbury" column. Oh if only it were that simple. If all goes to plan and this essay gets finished by the weekend, I shall spend Monday hitting the streets of Canterbury whoring out my unprotected CV on as many street corners as possible to as many offering clients as I can squeeze into. Regardless of what kinda of openings I may stumble into. All of this in one opening and out and in another and out is of course all in hope that my CV catches something... Fuck it. This sexual metaphor's been going on too long. Basically. hob Junting. And I shall be successful. Failure is not an option cos money is gonna be TIGHT this year. Ah, if only I was back here for pleasure and not for the pleasure of resubmitting coursewrok. *Gah!* Ah wells. I'll survive. I always seem to pull something special out right at the depth. But until then I'll just do what I gotta do, stay on course and perhaps for one of the few times in my life, just let history dictate my future.
G'day.

Oh, I like it when you do the hivvie

Well after almost a week of being in Canterbury, I can safely say I've settled in to my new crib. Sure with me only here to do an essay and an exam and Dom working at Marks and Spencer's it's been a little quite but it's still been nice. I've decided that once I return back to the ghetto at the beginning of september I'm going to give freshers week and miss and just chill at home unless of course I manage to land a job down here.

Well as it's been a a fantastic few days in the sporting world, I'm gonna have to do a bit on sport - that's your warning.
The football season is FRIGGIN' BACK!!!!! And Arsenal couldn't of started any better. Despite the major sales of Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure and the acquisition being Thomas Vermaelen things wern't looking to hot but POW! 6-1 away at Everton and suddenly the critics are silenced. And yesterday's champions league performance away to Celtic wasn't the best, but the job got done. I'm predicting big things to happen at The Emirates this season.

Moving on to the world athletics championships in Berlin and the Jamaican sprinters are doing so god damn well I'm even starting to share the view of very annoyed white English scientists who believe that they're all drugged up. Because apparently, an Island that has a population of just under 3 millions (about half of the London) just cannot produce as many top quality sprinters in the past 30ish years as Jamaica has. Lastly on the sports front. Big up Philips Idowu on finally nailing that world championship triple jump last night. 17.73m ... Buff said.

Anywho, enough with the sport. After stumbling upon this Gorillaz video for Feel Good inc. I've now reached the conclusion that even though I've always been a fan of Gorillaz I now wanna go seem them live cos they've stopped doing the twaty 3D Sci-fi concerts that pissed me off so much.

As I've been on a Scrubs binge over the past few days it was a damn near certainty that a clip would make it into my blog but after not being able to narrow down my three favourite clips I decided that they'd all go in. They're also all Turk clips which I've only just noticed now.

I do love Turk. I think he I my favourite character in scrubs closely followed by Dr. Cox.
Well that's about I've gotta type today. Goodnight children.

Aggro

I so need to get out of London again. Going back to Canterbury next week to get 'settled in' and to also hand in my two essays that need to be redone. And while I'm there I might as well make a start of finding a job down there.

Well, with 9 days remaining until the big premier league ko. I can finally see the light at the end of this football deprived tunnel and it'll be wonderful to finally have something to do on the weekends. I could go on and go into details about what I'm looking forward to but with the possibility of boring the football illiterate, I'll end it there.

Hasn't today been pointlessly hot with NO BREEZE WHATSOEVER!

We're not American: we don't have to win all the time

So, regardless of my lack of blogging lately I'm gonna talk to you about my summer music. What's been stuck on repeat for most of the day? What videos are nang nang nang?

So where to start?

I guess a 'welcome back' is in order for the Arctic Monkeys whose new video is out. Crying lightning is the first track released off their third album. It took me a few times to listen through it, but after that I can happily say it's a real good song. Different but good. Looking forward to hearing the new album.

Next, Florence and the machine. A band that everyone seems to like them. or at least have a favourite....Rabbit Heart (Raise it up).
If you were wondering.
You can't help but love Florence and her people.

My current favourite video of this summer has to be by the German named Scots Franz Ferdinand. The video for Can't stop feeling really good and just a fun video. Simple concept. Still really good. And of course not to mention, a pretty good song as well. Slidey transitions makes Rohan shhhmmmmiiiiiiiillllle.

Busta Rhymes - Pass the Courvoisie Absolutely class track.
Epic video. And oldie. But you can't hate it. Don't know why but I've been obsessed with this song since I've been back from uni.

Jamie T's latest single has been out since the beginning of summer but in truth, I've only just gotten into it. It's a slight change from songs like Sheila and If you got the money, but I've come to like its upbeat..ness. And as ever with Jamie T, lovely lyrics about general teenage life and coping with raging hormones being nullified by the binge drinking lifestyle.

Cee-lo and Danger Mouse make up Gnarls Barkley and the two of their albums: St. Elsewhere and The Odd Couple are both nang. A sick combination soul, r'n'b and rock makes them a class act.

With it being summer and there being quite the music festivals being shown on tv there was one band, quite an old band but one I did forget about for a while. Yea, The specials. Who else would I be talking 'bout. Here's one of their classics Ghost Town.

Lastly, it's Kasabian. Fire is just a brilliant track. Nuff said.

Thank you and good night.

A little bit of magic from that man

I've been so terrible with blogging lately. I shall do an update now and then tomorrow I shall do a proper one and do a catch up of peoples blogs.
Haven't really be doing much lately. There's been very little work going. I've also been so so so tired. I've easily been asleep for 18 hours today not good. And as sad as it s. I'm off to bed again.
