Two steps forward and one step back

We live in a stupidly corrupt world where decency and general obligations that I grew up with have just been shot out the window.

Everyone is quick to jump on the backs of politicians, corporate masses and anyone else with any real power the moment their dirty deeds have been uncovered but it ain't the higher ups who are deceptive and untrustworthy. Oh no, this is something that everyone is guilty of.

At a point where the whole of Great britain want to practically lynch MP's for their dishonesty on expenses forms, any man who is currently managing to juggle two women at the same time will receive a shit load of praises and will be recognised with an almost god like status amongst friends, whereas the guy who's been going out with the same girl for over a year and has never 'played away from home' merely gets a subtle nod of the head and raised eyebrow.

So welcome to this world where actually being a pretty decent person and trying to be as honest as possible doesn't get you anywhere near a far as the person who cheats and steals. Welcome to a world where being a true gentleman counts for fuck all. A world where Chris Brown is still happily watching the money pile up of his last album while Rihanna is still looking parts of her face.

But hey, this is the way the world works now. There ain't no decency. If a minor female celebrity is struggling to look for a new gig and life is definitely not 'fun times' no worries, cos all she gotta do is one or two topless shoots and wayhey! Everyone's in touch with her agent.

There ain't no such thing as taking pride anymore. It's all about what you've got and what you can afford. Example. In November 2005 the English Football Association went up and down the youth in England asking 2,000 players (aged 15-17) "For your 18th birthday would you prefer your first senior England cap or a Ferrari F430 (priced at £155,325) and wait a further four years for your first senior cap?" 76% of the players preferred the Ferrari.

So much for playing for your country being the "biggest and best thing you can do in any sport."
